The How
We work towards a Healthcare System that lives Gender-Specific Medicine as the Norm.
The EQUAL CARE Gap
Physiologically and behavioral differences between women and men need to be integrated into medicine inter-disciplinarily.
More scientific consideration of gender-sensitive factors in medicine leads to patient benefits from prevention, prompt diagnosis and effective care.
Major gender-sensitive factors:

- Muscle-fat ratio
- Cardiovascular system
- Digestive system
- Immune system
- Hormones
- Risk taking
- Social roles

Despite scientific evidence in gender-specific medicine, many advancements do not arrive at the patient.
We identified different barriers:
- Lack of awareness of the potential for enhanced patient outcome
- Limited transparency on gender-specific data of treatments
- Missing official guidance for practitioners
- Hesitant support by insurers and policies

How we serve
Provide Transparency on Diagnostics and Treatments as Medication, Digital and AI Applications
Understanding gender specific data and its implication in treatments is highly complex for patients and healthcare providers. To create transparency, we would like to certify and label diagnostics and treatments that use a gender specific approach in development and application to the patient. The Equal Care certification gives patients, doctors and other healthcare players a common language for communication and a common ground for collaboration.
EQUAL CARE Criteria for Medication
- Clinical Studies: Have the drugs been tested in men and women equally?
- Dosage: Are there relevant differences for men and women considered in the recommended dosage?
- Side Effects: Are there side effects specific to gender?
- Efficacy: What is the specific efficacy for men and women?
- Interactions: Are there gender-specific interactions with other medications or medical conditions?
